What are the advantages/ disadvantages of a turf baseball field ?

When hitting, a hard hit ground ball in the hole has better chance of making it past the fielder because the ball rolls a lot faster on turf. However a hard hit grounder close to a fielder gives them more time to turn a double play because the ball arrives so quickly. A fielding advantage is there aren't any bad hops because the whole field is level.
