I signed an apartment lease but want to get out of the lease before it starts?

The apartment is geared towards college students so a guarantor is needed. However, I never turned one in (hopefully this gives me an advantage). I signed the lease several months ago and the lease starts in mid September. Does anyone have suggestions for how to get out of the lease? What are the repercussions if I just don't move in and never pay? Can they sue me for rent even though I can't pay; would my parents be forced to pay since I'm still a dependent or does it not matter because they never signed the guarantor form. I know my credit can be ruined but how many years does it take for it to go back to normal (since this is just an apartment lease)?
