What are some the negative effects of smoking with asthma?

I know smoking has negative effects on people. I'm a smoker. But my brother is 19 and has sever asthma. He's been smoking since he was about 15. I know this is bad. And horrible on his lungs. But how bad is it exactly? How sever can his heath get compared to an average smoker?
